I'm an Academic
The Neurotrait Wheel is a framework designed by and with neurodivergent people to represent lived experience across multiple diagnoses – not just within discrete diagnostic categories.
It’s not a clinical tool, but as an open source resource based in plain language and personal experience, it has the potential to lead to rich participatory research.
We’re particularly interested in working with professionals to improve, expand and explore the potential for the Neurotrait model.
Qualitative interviews
Use the graph to ground conversations in participants’ actual experiences, rather than diagnostic labels.
Pattern analysis
Explore anonymised graphs to identify common trait clusters, cross-condition overlaps, or unexpected strengths.
Educational settings
Teach trait-based thinking in psychology, education, or social science programmes to challenge linear or deficit-based models.
Co-produced research
Invite Neurodivergent collaborators to develop their own graphs and contribute to shaping the questions you ask.
Research projects
Students working on projects in areas like psychology, HR, education or social science, etc. are welcome to use the model as a basis for their projects, and we’re always interested in using research to develop our model.
